Many members of our community (including older Nashvillians and children) have lost their SNAP benefits. As a result, we will experience a crisis in food availability for our most vulnerable citizens. As a Jewish community, we believe in caring for our neighbors and feeding the hungry. It is a driving value held by all Jews and drives the Social Action/Justice committees in our local synagogues. So, we have joined together to realize our commitment to t’kun olam.
Please join us and the other synagogues in Nashville in these next few weeks to help provide food for our neighbors. Bring a FULL bag of food items (non-perishables) to Micah, where a designated box can be found. Or you can bring a check or gift card that will be collected in our office. On December 19th, the Second Harvest truck will go synagogue to synagogue to collect…. let’s make sure Micah collects the most!
