Service Times and Offerings

Shabbat Services

Praying is a dialogue with God.  Like Jews of generations past, here at Micah we link ourselves to the divinity beyond and within ourselves through worship. Our community marks milestones, offers thanks and praise, and seeks guidance when we gather in our sanctuary, chapel, memorial garden, and cemetery.  We approach God in many ways:  through the power of music and song, the inspiration of words, the beauty of sacred space, and the authenticity of our intention.  To fully realize this core Jewish value, we invite you to join us for services that are as diverse as they are engaging, as moving as they are participatory.

Friday Night

Come and schmooze with us before Shabbat services at 5:30. We will have light hors d'oeuvres and refreshments. Services start promptly at 6 PM.

Services include original musical compositions, traditional chanting, responsive readings, and time for silence. Services conclude at approximately 7:00 p.m.

Most attendees dress business casual, and everyone is welcome. Optional kippot (head coverings) and tallit are located in the foyer.

Micah MINIS

Micah MINIS is a young children’s Shabbat service for our miniest minis through first grade. Micah MINIS occurs on certain Saturday mornings at 9:30 am (check the calendar!) and will last for about half an hour. In that time, the kids will enjoy Shabbat songs, stories, and Torah – followed by Oneg, playtime, and conversation.

All parents and siblings can join our MINIS.

Sunday Family Services

At this 40-minute Family Service on Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m., our Rabbi and Cantor tap into the energy and imagination of our youth. An opportunity to gather for songs and to celebrate learning, regular attendees develop a sound foundation in the structure of the daily morning service.

Family Services are scheduled when Religious School is in session; we invite you to check our website calendar.

Tot Shabbat

Once a week, the kids at Micah Children's Academy make their way to the Eden Room for Tot Shabbat. This is a time for fun with the clergy. They sing songs and dance around for a half-hour before returning to their classrooms. It’s a nice break at the end of the week for both the kids and teachers!

While this program is directed by the Academy, it is open for all parents to bring their babies through preschool children.
