As a member, you are automatically registered to attend our High Holy Day services. Additionally, please expect to receive a packet containing all of the things you will need to attend our High Holy Day services at the beginning of August. This includes, but is not limited to: your security pass and a schedule. Please bring your security pass each time you enter the building to bypass the security screening process. Please also read the information below about this year's livestream. Access has changed, and the service links will be private this year.

The Book of Remembrance

As we approach the High Holy Days, we are reminded of the profound significance of memory in our Jewish tradition. The Yizkor service, in particular, offers us a sacred space to reflect on the lives of those we have lost and to honor their enduring presence in our hearts.

Congregation Micah will once again be compiling our annual Book of Remembrance, a cherished tradition where we memorialize our loved ones and ensure that their memories continue to be a source of blessing. Submissions are now open via the link below. The deadline to submit is Wednesday, September 2.

Live Stream Changes

This year, High Holy Day services will no longer be available through a public livestream. Instead, members will receive private access links by email before each service. Members may watch services using any of the following:

• Micah Members-Only Facebook Group (Must join in advance, click HERE to request access.)

• ShulCloud

• Private YouTube link

Members will automatically receive the private livestream links by email several weeks before the holidays and again the day before each service. No registration is required for members. Recordings will be available on YouTube the following day. Visitors (non-members) who wish to attend services in person or watch the services live online must register in advance. They may also watch the recordings the following day without registering.

Practice Streams

Because we're using private livestream links this year instead of public broadcasts, we're offering practice sessions to help everyone become familiar with the new access process:

• Friday, August 28 • 5-6 PM

• Monday, August 31 • 5-6 PM

• Thursday, September 3 • 2-3 PM

• Thursday, September 17 • 5-6 PM

Registration information for the practice sessions will be emailed later in August. Because we are using a new private livestream system this year, we encourage everyone planning to worship from home to participate in a practice session. Technical support will not be available during the High Holy Day services.

I LIKE TO WATCH ON MY SMART TV. CAN I STILL DO THAT?
Yes! We recommend using the YouTube app on your Smart TV or casting the livestream from your computer, tablet, or phone. A YouTube link will be provided for each livestreamed service.

WHAT IF I DON’T HAVE A HIGH HOLY DAY MACHZOR AT HOME?
A PDF version of Congregation Micah's machzor—the same one we've used for the past several years—will be distributed with the broadcast links before each holiday.

If you prefer a printed copy, members may pick one up at the synagogue or request one by mail for a fee to cover shipping.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
A suit and tie. Or jeans and a t-shirt. Or something in between. Our services are not about your clothes, they’re about your spirit. We’re happy to have you no matter what you’re wearing – as long as you’re wearing something, please.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING?

• On Yom Kippur Day, please consider bringing a donation of canned goods for the local food pantry that serves our neighbors experiencing food insecurity.

• You may want to bring a light shawl or sweater.
