Worship - Beit Hatefillah
Selichot, meaning forgiveness, refers to the penitential prayers recited by Jews prior to the onset of the High Holiday season. Selichot services are customarily observed before Rosh Hashanah as a solemn and fitting preparation for ten days of reflection and self-examination.

At Congregation Micah, we have a fun tradition of holding a Pajama Selichot service for kids before the Selichot service for the general congregation. At the Pajama Selichot, everyone (including our Rabbis!) dresses in pajamas and, despite the evening's attire, joins together for a thoughtful service where stuffed animals are the honored guests on the bima!
