Service Times and Offerings
Praying is a dialogue with God. Like Jews of generations past, here at Micah we link ourselves to the divinity beyond and within ourselves through worship. Our community marks milestones, offers thanks and praise, and seeks guidance when we gather in our sanctuary, chapel, memorial garden, and cemetery. We approach God in many ways: through the power of music and song, the inspiration of words, the beauty of sacred space, and the authenticity of our intention. To fully realize this core Jewish value, we invite you to join us for services that are as diverse as they are engaging, as moving as they are participatory.

Our Friday night services begin with our "Weekly WINE-down" of light hors d'oeuvres and refreshments at 5:30 p.m. We begin singing in the foyer as we move into the sanctuary at 6:00 p.m. and light the Shabbat candles by 6:10 p.m.
Services include original musical compositions, traditional chanting, responsive readings, and time for silence. Services conclude at approximately 7:00 p.m. and are followed by a light Oneg.
Most attendees dress business casual, and everyone is welcome. Optional kippot (head coverings) and tallit are located in the foyer.
6:00 p.m. Friday Night Shabbat Service
Services begin promptly at 10:30 a.m. following Bagels, Learning, and Torah Study at 9:00 a.m.
Often, a young member of our community will become a bar or bat mitzvah; please check the website calendar. On the weeks when there is no b’nai mitzvah service, a more intimate gathering takes place in our chapel where the Torah is chanted and interpreted. A small kiddush follows the service.
10:30 a.m. (Torah Study is held at 9:00 a.m.)
Micah MINIS is a young children’s Shabbat service for our miniest minis through first grade. Micah MINIS occurs on certain Saturday mornings at 9 am (check the calendar!) and will last for about half an hour. In that time, the kids will enjoy Shabbat songs, stories, and Torah – followed by Oneg, playtime, and conversation.
MINIS Prime Time is another occasional service that takes place on Friday evenings, just before the regularly scheduled 6:00 pm Shabbat service. The kids are welcomed in to a fun Shabbat service of music, prayer, and joy. Oneg and social hour follow this service just as the rest of the congregation arrives.
All parents and siblings can join our MINIS on Friday nights or Saturday mornings.
Sunday Family Services
At this 40-minute Family Service on Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m., our Rabbi and Cantorial Soloist tap into the energy and imagination of our youth. An opportunity to gather for songs and to celebrate learning, regular attendees develop a sound foundation in the structure of the daily morning service.
Family Services are scheduled when Religious School is in session; we invite you to check our website calendar.
Once a week, the kids at Micah Children's Academy make their way to Micah’s chapel for Tot Shabbat. This is a time for fun with the rabbi and Lisa Silver. They sing songs and dance around for a half-hour before returning to their classrooms. It’s a nice break at the end of the week for both the kids and teachers!
While this program is directed by the Academy, it is open for all parents to bring their babies through preschool children.
Fridays at 11 a.m.*

*No Tot Shabbat when Micah Children's Academy is closed.
