Funds
At present there are eleven funds supporting specific needs at Micah. These include (alphabetically): The Adult Education Fund, Building Fund, Cemetery Fund, Confirmation Fund, General Fund, Library Fund, Memorial Fund, Prayerbook Fund, Rabbi's Rice Discretionary Fund, and the Religious School Fund.
General Fund
By far the most active of Micah’s funds is the GENERAL FUND. This fund helps support the numerous activities of Congregation Micah. All the monies given to the General Fund become part of the annual budget and provide the resources in all the programs, expenses and purchases of the congregation.

Rabbis Rice Discretionary Fund
This fund is used to support needy individuals ranging from help with rent or utilities, to camp scholarships and congregational activities. Many international and local causes are also supported by this fund.

The Library Fund:
A popular fund which benefits so many of our congregants. Money given to the Library Fund allows the purchase of additional books, tapes, videos and other materials for this most important part of Micah’s educational program. Individual books can be given with bookplates honoring or memorializing friends and loved ones. When check or cash donations are made, they are placed in the Library Fund to be used for books selected by our Library committee or rabbis.

Religious School Fund:
A marvelous way to help the congregation provide for the needs of our Religious School’s 200 plus students and more than forty volunteer teachers. Obvious areas include new media materials, academic enrichment supplies, books, computers, etc. All donations to the religious school help Micah support the subsidized school programming.

Prayer Book Fund:
You can support the fund in two ways; one is to give a general contribution which will be gathered with other gifts toward the purchase of a large number of needed prayerbooks. These donations are not for a specific book, but will, as all donations are, be noted in our monthly Messenger. The second way is the gift of a specific amount required for the purchase of a book (or books) recognizing the memory or honor of a loved one.

Music Fund:
This very popular fund supports the wonderful music that Lisa Silver and Michael treats us to on every Shabbat and High Holiday. From new musical equipment to hiring outside musicians these funds add to what we all love at Micah.
Your generosity through these contributions allows Micah to do many things that annual dues cannot. You are making Congregation Micah a better place through the gifts of your heart and spirit.
